Privacy policy

1. Controller

The controller for personal data processed through this website is BrunnerWerk, Adrian Brunner, St. Jakobs-Strasse 108b, 4132 Muttenz, Switzerland. Contact: info@brunnerwerk.ch.

2. In brief

This is a plain company website. There are no user accounts, no login and no ordering process. I process personal data only if you submit the contact form or write to me directly.

3. Contact form

When you submit the contact form, the following is stored on the server: your name, your email address, the topic you selected, your message, the language you used and the time of receipt. Your IP address is not stored with it. I use this solely to answer your enquiry. It is not used for advertising and not passed to third parties other than the processors named in section 8.

4. Spam protection and server logs

To protect against automated abuse, the server limits how many submissions come from one IP address and checks a field invisible to humans as well as the time between page load and submission. Your IP address is only processed briefly in memory for this and is not stored with your enquiry. If a submission is rejected, the server log records the reason and the IP address; these logs are not archived permanently. Neither a CAPTCHA nor any third-party service is used.

5. Outgoing email

After submission, the server sends two emails: a notification to me and a confirmation of receipt to your address. Sending is handled by the service Resend, and the details from your enquiry are transmitted to that service (see section 8). My mailbox for replies remains with Hostpoint AG in Switzerland. The emails contain no tracking pixels and no tracking links.

6. No cookies, no tracking

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or advertising tools, and embeds no third-party content: no external fonts, maps, videos or social networks.

7. Local storage in your browser

Your language choice is stored in your browser's local storage under the key brw.lang, so the site appears in the same language next time. The entry contains only de or en, and it is not sent to the server when you view pages. If you submit the contact form, however, the language you chose is sent to the server with your enquiry and stored there (see section 3). You can clear the entry at any time in your browser settings.

8. Hosting and processors

The website and its database run on Fly.io in a data centre in Amsterdam, Netherlands (EU). Domain, DNS and mailbox are with Hostpoint AG in Switzerland. Email delivery is handled by Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc., San Francisco, USA), and the details from your enquiry are therefore transferred to the USA. That transfer is based on a data processing agreement incorporating the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, which that agreement extends expressly to the Swiss Data Protection Act; the company has also certified its adherence to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. All three process personal data on my behalf. There are no other processors.

9. Retention

I keep enquiries for as long as they are needed to answer them and for any later work that follows. You may ask me to delete your enquiry at any time; I will do so unless a statutory retention duty prevents it.

10. Your rights

Within the limits of applicable law you may request access to the data held about you, its correction or deletion, and you may object to the processing. Write to the email address above. You may also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) and, where the GDPR applies, to your competent supervisory authority.

11. Legal bases

Swiss data protection law (DSG) applies. Where the GDPR applies, I base the processing of your enquiry on taking steps prior to entering into a contract and on my legitimate interest in a working contact channel that is protected against abuse.

12. Security

The website is reachable only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to stored enquiries is limited to me. No online service can guarantee absolute security; I take reasonable measures.

13. Changes

This policy may be updated. The version published on this page, with the date shown above, is the applicable one.
